A week before the Sinulog Grand parade, Cebu is already upbeat. People can see a preview of the lively, colorful and grand celebration that happens in the Queen City of the South. The Sinulog sa Kabataan serves as an elimination event for Cebu-based contingents where winners will get the slots for the Grand Sinulog competition.
I was able to catch some of the action in the streets. Personally I enjoy it more because you can get really close and personal to them so I did not bother going to the main dancing stage. (for the lack of a zoom lens 😀 )
The Sinulog sa Kabataan sa Lalawigan (Province) happens on a Saturday afternoon which starts with a parade and street dance from the Capitol to the Cebu City Sports Center (Abellana) where they perform the ritual dance showdown in a big stage. This is participated by cities and municipalities from within the province of Cebu.
Similarly, the Sinulog sa Kabataan sa Dakbayan (City) happens on the following day, Sunday at 1PM. From Plaza Independencia to Cebu City Sports Center, a parade and street dance is performed by contingents from different schools (Elementary and High School) within Cebu City.

I appreciate all the effort that has been shown in this event. They all deserve our cheers and applause. Winning this competition needs a lot of factor to consider. Aside from those criteria for judging, I personally say they need a PUFF. (i just made it up 😀 )
