Tis’ the season to be jolly, fa la la la la, la la la la! Christmas is so in the air and you can definitely feel it anywhere you go. From the music you hear in the neighborhood to the colorful street lights at night. And the most famous symbol of them all, the Christmas tree.
Since the start of December, I bumped into a few Christmas trees around the city inside malls, hotels and it really gives me a smile. So I came up with a list of some of the wonderful Christmas trees you will love and maybe take a selfie. In no particular order, let me share to you these photos that made me feel like a kid again. 😉
SM City Cebu
Every year people have been anticipating the Christmas tree in SM City Cebu located at the Northwing. This year, they have a tree made up of balls colored with yellow, green and red.
Ayala Center Cebu
This Christmas tree is located at the new expansion wing of Ayala Center Cebu. It is made up of red, green and white triangles.
JCentre Mall
This golden Christmas tree is located at the heart of J Centre Mall which located in A. S. Fortuna St. in Mandaue City. They also have a set up of the Nativity of Jesus.
Parkmall
Isn’t it sweet? Another unique Christmas tree is the Candy-themed one in Parkmall. It is literally an eye-candy but take note, it’s for your eyes only. 🙂
Crown Regency
One of the tallest hotel buildings in the country, the Crown Regency Hotel and Towers has also a tall with gifts and gingerbread houses underneath.
Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino
Inside Waterfront Cebu City Hotel and Casino you will be greeted by not just one, not two, but three beautiful Christmas trees.
Radisson Blu Hotel Cebu
At the entrance of Radisson Blu Hotel Cebu, you will be greeted with a snowy-blue-colored Christmas tree. How cool is that!
Basilica del Sto. Niño
If you have been attending the Misa de Gallo in Basilica del Sto. Niño then you would not miss this simple yet unique Christmas tree. I love the native touch of the design and its message.
And last but not the least, the tallest Christmas tree in the city and I know you’ve been waiting for.
Fuente Osmeña Circle
Standing 120-feet tall, this Christmas tree in Fuente Osmeña Circle is everyone’s favorite. This year the tree resembles the pine trees of Baguio City. It was lighted last December 1st and will continue until the Sinulog Festival.
We have a variety of awesome Christmas trees around the city and I am glad to have visited some of them. If there is one thing in common among them, it is that they are extra sized! But why?
Never worry about the size of your Christmas tree, in the eyes of children, they are all 30 feet tall
-Larry Wilde
Perhaps I understand why we love extra sized Christmas trees. Perhaps Christmas reminds us to be and feel like children again looking high up to that star. Let us also remind ourselves that Christmas is the celebration of the birth of the child Jesus Christ. So let’s look up and build an extra sized christmas tree inside our hearts and celebrate this season of loving and sharing with our families and friends.
